Like the design drawing pasted on the previous album leaf, this sheet bears a design for the stucco relief executed under Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s direction on the ceiling of the church of Santa Maria del Priorato in Rome. Compared to the first version, however, this second drawing has been worked up and displays finer contours, precisely executed details, and greater modelling.
