Again and again we see the workshop making best possible use of available paper, by filling in any blank spaces with additional, often unrelated figures or figure groups. The practice visible in the upper drawing on this album leaf, however, is puzzling and leaves many questions unanswered. In this case three separate papers were joined together to form one sheet of drawing paper. What might have been the reason for this unusual practice?
