Album 2, Leaf 6

Many of the drawings pasted onto this leaf feature a single figure or a multifigure arrangement, which, when taken as whole, may create a general impression that these drawings were executed systematically and with forethought. However, the sheet pasted in at bottom left refutes such an impression: it was clearly a study sheet not intended for display. It was unceremoniously turned upside down while sketching, allowing the draughtsperson to squeeze in another figure.
